安岳石刻上承云岡、龍門，下啟大足，縣境內石窟造像遺址星羅密布，早在一千多年以前的南北朝時期，充滿智慧的安岳人就開始了這項鬼斧神工，在唐宋時期更是達到了最繁盛的地步。“古、多、精、美”是安岳石刻最大的特點，而一些獨具代表性的造像，融以了當地地方性、世俗化的色彩，生動地折射出了千百年前民間文化的“真實面容”。

The Anyue Stone Carvings bearing Longmen and Dazu.There are many grotto statue sites in here.More than a thousand years ago,intelligent Chinese ancient people of the Southern and Northern of Song Dynasties has began this craftsmanship,and reached its peak in the Tang and Song dynasties.

Ancient,abundant,delicate,and beautiful"is the biggest characteristic of Anyue stone carvings.Some unique statues has breaked the solemnity of Buddhist culture,and integrate the local characteristics.They are vividly reflect the"original face"of folk of Anyue in thousands of years ago.（肖正君）
